Life skills
Life skills are crucial for children’s development, enabling them to navigate daily challenges with confidence. By enhancing skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and emotional management, young people can build self-esteem and make wise life choices. It’s essential to help them see the bigger picture and equip them with the tools they need to succeed.
Programme Overview
The Amy Foundation integrates life skills education within our classes and conducts awareness lessons on critical issues like HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, and substance abuse. We engage students in discussions on various social topics, often debating differing viewpoints. These peer-to-peer learning sessions stimulate critical thinking, boost engagement, and encourage active participation, empowering learners to become role models in their communities.
Currently, we serve over 300 students daily across six after-school centres ( Siyazingisa, Mimosa, Cedar, St. Mary’s Primary Schools and Bonteheuwel High School).
