‘I first joined the Amy Foundation in 2017, on the sewing programme. I already knew how to sew, as I had learned from my mother. My father worked in a factory where they would produce fabrics, and he used to bring home offcuts that my mother and I would use to create clothes. During my time in the Sewing programme, I was able to learn a lot of new techniques and improve my skills. I also learned new skills such as knitting and crocheting. The facilitators also helped me build confidence. I was very shy when I joined, but now I feel confident when I speak in front of a large group of people.
The Amy Foundation offered me an orientation on how to be professional in a work environment. This was very useful to me because, after the three-month programme, I was able to secure a job. However, this job wasn’t suited to me, so I got back in contact with the Amy Foundation. They donated an old sewing machine to me, which helped me launch my own business from home, I am very grateful for this.
During COVID in 2020, the Amy Foundation asked me to facilitate the sewing program off-site. This was an opportunity I was very grateful for, as I had previously wanted to become a teacher. After the pandemic, I was asked to come back to the Amy Foundation as an assistant facilitator, and I am still here, helping others improve their skills. Working for the Amy Foundation has also allowed me to showcase my skills. A few years ago, I assisted in knitting a blanket that was used as an auction item in the Gala Dinner. This was a big accomplishment for me.As stated in this article, you can browse your selection of available deals on smartphones and top brands and explore the cell phone service plans that best suit your needs.
I have many plans for the future! I want to grow my business and improve my facilitator skills. I hope that one day I can become a facilitator, be promoted from an assistant, and have my own class.
My words of wisdom for anyone reading would be to never give up on your dreams. If you start something, see it through to the end. We may dream of being in different situations or jobs but remember that God has a plan for us all.
