Foundation phase Facilitator (Tutor)

An exciting job has become available within our afterschool programmes department at MIMOSA, Cape Town.

The Amy Foundation is a non-profit organisation (NGO) that offers various programmes to develop and empower youth, ages 5-18, reaching over 600 learners everyday living in challenged and vulnerable communities within the Western Cape. Our centres strive to have a very positive impact on the youth as well as the communities and society in which they live.

We are recruiting for a Part-time, experienced, well-organized, attention to detail, flexible and driven individual to occupy the Foundation phase Facilitator (Tutor)position at MIMOSA Primary school. The Foundation phase Facilitator (Tutor) facilitator will report directly to the Centre Co-ordinator.


Specific duties and responsibility include, but not limited to:

  • Recruit and supervise learners.
  • Facilitate and provide lessons to learners.
  • To recruit, maintain and supervise the minimum number of attendance of learners within your classroom.
  • To maintain the agreed minimum number of 20 learners daily.
  • Complete all necessary administration and preparation for lessons.
  • To develop and create effective learning material (Lesson plan and resources) for the development of your programme.
  • To ensure weekly classroom attendance register are kept and completed for are all learners for submission to the co-ordinators.
  • To be a role model to all learners.



  • Must have Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or level 4 certificate- (Essential)
  • Clear Criminal record- (Essential)
  • Must have 1-2 years’ experience in tutoring and facilitation of learners (Grade R-8) (Essential)
  • Must have Strong background in tutoring and facilitation. (Essential)
  • Intermediate report writing (Weekly and quarterly reports)- Ability to write reports.
  • Good understanding of completing learner attendance registrations and registration process.
  • Proficient in MS Office-Microsoft word, excel and power point. (Essential)
  • Ability to create a lesson plan creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Afrikaans. (Essential)
  • Professional attitude and appearance

  • Per hour



  • 2-3 hours per day, Monday-Thursday.
  • Saturday, Sunday and public holidays if and when required.
